West Nusa Tenggara is a province in Indonesia. Consistent with its name, this province includes the western part of the Nusa Tenggara Islands. The two largest islands in this province is the island of Lombok located in the west and Sumbawa islands located in the east. The capital of this province is the city of Mataram in Lombok Island. The tourists can visit by using the transport ship through the Port Lembar connecting Bali and Lombok island, located in the West Lombok area. Air transportation can access through Airport Selaparang.

Lombok island famous for natural area tourism. The white sandy beach that is very exotic and facing directly to the Indian Ocean and a few favorite places for tourists to surf. Mount Rinjani Lombok Island is located in the north is the number 2 highest mountains in Indonesia. Hindu community for their trust in the peak is a sacred place, the place of the gods. At an altitude of 2000 m above sea level there is kaldera which forms the lake Segara Anak. In the middle, there are small mountain Barujari that is still active, this place is also a source of hot water that is used for treatment, while the lake Segara Anak can be used as a camping and fishing.

Most of the population comes from Lombok Sasak tribe, while the tribe of Sumbawa and Bima ethnic groups is the largest on the island of Sumbawa. Cultural tourism can be done by looking at the daily activities that are still maintaining the tradition of ancestor in Sade village and Tansang Angsang, two village heritage describes how the Sasak ethnic life in the early period. Traditional Woven in Sukarare, Gerabah crafts in Penujak, antiques made from Rattan and Skinfold in the Beleka village, all strongly support the development of tourism in this region.

Native population is entirely embraces Islam while immigrants generally embraces the Hindu religion of the tribe Bali that many live in the city of Mataram and West Lombok area, while the Christian and Catholic, Buddhist adherents are relatively small. The traditional activities are still often be made, Medaq (birth), Nyunatang (khitanan), Merariq (marriage).
